How much does an uncontested divorce cost?
We charge $525 for a friendly, uncontested divorce with or without children.
If you also have community property to divide, your total divorce cost will be calculated on an individual basis depending on the size of your marital settlement agreement.
We cannot prepare any pension plan valuations. You are required to pay $395 in filing fees directly to the court. If you are unemployed or have a very low income we will file a court fee waiver application for you.
WHAT WE DO FOR YOU AFTER OUR INITIAL MEETING:
1. Type your initial papers: Summons, Petition, Income and Expense Declaration, Separate and Community Property Declarations - After you approve and sign them - We file them in your local Los Angeles family Court.
2. Assist you in having a copy of the divorce papers served on your spouse by a third party (or, at extra cost, by the Sheriff or a private process server). File the Proof of Service into court.
3. 45 days later, file a Default Request, together with a request for a hearing which you the Petitioner will attend to obtain your final Judgment papers approved and signed by the court.
4. Prepare all necessary documents required for the hearing.
5. Come to the courtroom at the scheduled date and time to deliver the prepared documents for your signature, so you can get your Judgment signed.
